Charlotte Tilbury Scent Of A Dream

As many of you will know by now I love collecting fragrances and I received this perfume for Christmas from my partner to add to my growing collection and I could not wait to share my thoughts with you all and this is quite an in-depth review, so grab a cup of tea, relax and enjoy!
I had tried a sample of this on a recent shopping trip and I immediately fell in love with it and knew I just had to have it. The product's unique selling point is that it contains a unique blend of mood altering ingredients. According to Charlotte's website it contains confidence boosting joy top notes, intoxicating fleurotic heart notes and pheromone base notes, or in other words it makes the wearer feel sexy and confident and others attracted to you hence the product's slogan being "The Key To Attraction". I do however think the name is slightly naff but you know me and my reviews are very honest.

The best way I can describe it is it reminds me of Chanel No 5, it's strong and floral and it lasts a long time, I like how I'm reminded of it all day as I'm wearing it. I also find it interesting how a fragrance can remind you of certain things, for example this makes me think of parties and masquerade balls. This is my new favourite and at £68 for the 50ml bottle it certainly is a luxury fragrance but this is why I love the Charlotte Tilbury brand, I'm not so keen on her makeup which is very hit and miss but I absolutely adore the packaging as it looks and feels luxurious and it's nice to have a little luxury every once in a while. Upon initial application, in my honest opinion this does not smell nice but once it settles on the skin it transforms and it really is a stunning scent.

Sadly because of its price tag it's not a fragrance I want to wear everyday as I want to make it last so I'm going to save this for my days off and stick to my celebrity perfumes for work. I opted for the 50ml as opposed to the 30ml bottle because 30ml never lasts very long with me as I tend to wear perfumes like body sprays.

My only complaint with this would be the fact that no one seems to notice that I'm wearing it, despite it being a strong fragrance and "The Key To Attraction" I have yet to receive any compliments when I'm wearing it, but this doesn't bother me as I wear fragrances for me, I like being able to smell them on me throughout the day but it is surprising considering how strong it is. Ironically I wore a £6 Avon fragrance not so long ago and everyone was stopping me to ask what it was.

Fragrances are a very personal thing and what one person loves someone else will hate and this is very much a marmite type product, I have even heard some people describe this as an "old lady's perfume". I also find that my other all time favourite fragrance Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf also receives very mixed reviews. Overall, I adore this fragrance and it is now my new favourite and my go to scent, I would recommend it to anyone who loves Chanel No 5 and wants to try something a bit different and I would definitely repurchase. I would describe it as weirdly, beautifully mesmerising, I think that sums this perfume up well.
